Book Marketing Tips that no longer work
It's a PAY TO PLAY world we live in now.
There are a number of paid tools to submit your book to 20+ free book promotion sites - but they no longer deliver good results.
Examples include:
Bookmarketingtools.com, KDROI
If you prefer to manually select the websites where your free book will be promoted, you can use this list from Kindlepreneur (but as explained earlier, don't expect great results, and not all free promotion sites are built equally): Kindlepreneur's Top Free Websites
The good news is that we've done the hard work for you and tested each of the major (but not all) best book promotion sites when offering your book for free. We tested this with over 50+ authors and the benchmar results were clear and fully described in my free book The Unofficial Authors Guide to Selling on Amazon(click on link to view) of which one sample is provided here:
BENCHMARK RESULTS FROM AUTHOR 1: these are sales results for my free book promotion using paid ads on these sites:
"6/4 had 425 downloads: Fussy Librarian; Just Kindle Books; Book Reader Magazine
6/5 had 189 downloads: Book Runes;
6/6 had 508 downloads: Freebooksy;
6/67 had 155 downloads: JKB; BRM
Total advertising for this promo: $115 for 1,277 downloads comes to 9 cents per unit.
Using book submission tools:
I paid $29 to Book Marketing Tools to advertise on multiple sites, but on the giveaway day, I couldn't find my book advertised on most of them. Many hadn't updated their lists for days".
All other tests showed similar results: Paid ads work; using Book Submission Tools no longer really work.
